ABOUT ARTWORK +
Alec Soth (rhymes with "both") made his name with "Sleeping By the Mississippi" in 2004. Rooted in the tradition of Robert Frank, William Eggleston and Walker Evans, Soth spent five years working his way down the Mississippi River and documenting the people and places he saw with his 8 x 10 camera. The result was richly descriptive, large-format colour photographs of an eclectic mix of individuals, landscapes, and interiors.
