Thomas Struth is one of the world’s most prominent photographers. He started his career in the late seventies with cityscape pictures; single point perspective photos, taken from the middle of the streets in cities like Düsseldorf and New York – and later from almost all over the world. This photo, "Bernhardstrasse 2, Leipzig", is from the early nineties, when Struth went on the road to find more "unconscious places", this time in the former Deutsche Demokratische Republik.
