ABOUT ARTWORK +
Alex Hubbard (1975) is a Los Angeles-based painter and video artist. Hubbard’s paintings often suggest a mechanical means of production. Fields of color in fibreglass and resin are interrupted with richly pooled, dripped and poured paint. Working with fast-drying materials, the artist is forced to act quickly, embracing chance happenings and reveling in the autonomy of his chosen media. Alex Hubbard’s work is represented in public collections such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and the Marciano Collection (Los Angeles).
